Innovative Landfill Reduction: As Green As It Gets
ECW offers a proven process for reducing waste volumes by as much as 90%:
- Biodegradables are separated from the waste stream and composted to create clean soil and fertilizer products. Recyclables are separated and marketed. Unusable and/or hazardous material is treated via a state-of-the-art process that reduces volume of the waste it processes by 83%, produces no contaminants in the stack emissions, and can generate electricity while operating. The residue can be used as a construction material.
- Existing landfills are mined to separate compostables and recyclables and process unusable/hazardous materials. Mining the landfill reclaims valuable resources, increases income for the facility, and reclaims precious landfill space.
- All equipment used in the process is continuously supported and maintained by ECW.
